The Efficacy and Safety of Automatic Modes During Respiratory Support After Cardiac Surgery

چکیده
Aims . To compare the efficacy and safety of semiautonomous Adaptive Support Ventilation (ASV) fully automated (closed-loop, Intellivent-ASV) mechanical ventilation oxygenation versus conventional mode during respiratory support in cardiac surgery patients. Material methods In this study, 40 adult patients were ventilated by managed 8 physicians (control group), whereas other two groups Intellivent-ASV ( n =40) or a semiautomatic ASV =40). The received standard care, except for modes ventilation. Results group, number manual changes ventilator settings was significantly lower: 0 (0–0) 2 (2–3) 4 (3–5) control group P <0.0001). There significant differences duration ICU which 226±31 min (Intellivent group) vs 259±66 271±78 (control) =0.0042; 1–2 =0.0167; 1–3 =0.009). more protective than semiautomated physician-controlled (lower values driving pressure (6 (6–7) cm H O vs. 6 7 (7–9) <0.0001)), tidal volume (7–7.7) (7–8) ml/kg/PBW FiO (26 (24–30)% 34 (30–35)% (30–38)%) with no between paO /FiO frequency undesirable events stay. Conclusion use intelligent technologies makes it possible to interactively individualize support, reducing clinician's involvement process without compromising patient quality

An Investigation of Safety and Efficacy of Intravenous Paracetamol in Pain Management Following Cardiac Surgery
Introduction: Optimum pain management immediately after surgeries can lower the possibility of pain syndrome and its following consequences. Opioids are amongst the analgesics used for postoperative pain control; however, their application can bring about several adverse effects. In this study, all the published articles regarding efficacy of Paracetamol in post-cardiac surgery pain managemen...
متن کاملThe effects of magnesium supplementation on the incidence of cardiac complications after pediatric cardiac surgery
Background and Objective: The present study aimed to assess the role of magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) sup-plementation after cardiac surgery in pediatric patients, evaluating the incidence of cardiac complications, such as arrhythmia. Methods: In this study, 105 children scheduled for elective cardiac surgery were randomly divided into 3 groups. The first group, as the placebo group, received sali...

extremely claustrophobic conditions, the nature of the patient's illness, and the requirements for patient compliance during the procedure followed by a rapid recovery. There is a paucity of information on how this can ideally be achieved. Propofol would appear to satisfy these requirements, but its unpredictable effects on involuntary movements precludes its use. The regimen suggested by Dr Gr...
متن کاملThe efficacy and safety of two different doses of caffeine in respiratory function of preterm infants
Background: Caffeine is widely used for prevention of apnea and helps successful extubation from mechanical ventilation. It facilitates the transition from invasive to noninvasive support and reduces duration of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) in preterm infants. The optimum caffeine dose in preterm infants has not been well-studied in terms of benefits and risks. We compared efficac...
متن کاملEfficacy and safety of ibutilide fumarate for the conversion of atrial arrhythmias after cardiac surgery.
BACKGROUND Atrial arrhythmias occur commonly after cardiac surgery and are a cause of significant morbidity and increased hospital costs, yet there is no well-studied treatment strategy to deal with them expeditiously. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy and safety of ibutilide fumarate, an approved drug for the rapid conversion of atrial fibrillation and flutter, in patient...
